WordPress Update 3.5.1

January 29, 2013

It seems like it’s been a while since we had a WordPress update. I’m happy to say that I think this recent one is exceptional. I especially like the new media file management. WordPress markets itself as a “content management system,” and it’s high time the software proved it with some real, good media management improvements. I am very appreciative of the new system of adding images AND the ability to apply image alignment within the initial settings.

One thing that has bothered me is the new hyperlink functionality. Drives me nuts! It happens when I click an image (perhaps to center it using the Visual Editor or add a caption after I have inserted it into the post). Clicking the image causes a pop-up window that directs to the hyperlink. UGH! Can’t stand that! If you use a lot of Flickr images, you know what I mean.

I’ve been a WordPress user for almost six years now. I’ve seen a lot happen down the pike. It’s great to see WP add better functionality to the media management console, but can ya’all please ditch the hyperlink redirects? Please?

Do you use WP? What do you think of the new update?
