Superior Content Management

Smiling Group of Professionals

Ten years ago, a business might have been able to get by without a website. But today, EVERYTHING is online. And managing a website is, in my opinion, not easy, especially a networked business website where you have a constant stream of data and contributors.

Well, here comes EmpowerKit and their Network Marketing Software to the rescue. I just spent some time looking at the video of everything the software can do. Wow! It’s pretty impressive. It’s suited perfectly for MLM team sites where you have constantly changing data and many online content contributors.

I’ve always been a “do it yourself” kind of gal, but I don’t think I could handle the high demands of a rapidly and frequently changing website. I do check out sites like Freshout Web Development strategies for ideas and to see the latest developments in website content management (and stand in awe at the technology and talented developers!).

If you’ve got a business and are in need of an easy way to manage your online content, take a peek at the links. The video is very impressive and you can even try the software for free.

Got Bugs? Scan Your URL

urlv98147

I discovered a great site that will scan your website or blog for malware, exploits, and other nasty vermin: URL Void. It’s great! It’s free to use and it works well.

In this age of profligate hacking, something like this is almost a requirement for any webmaster. I have heard numerous horror stories from my blogging peers that their website had been hacked. Usually, it’s a prank and the webpage displays a “Hacked By” sign with foul language. Sometimes, it’s a little more malicious– a webmaster or blogger may install a plugin or theme or widget that has malicious code in it. This code may spew juice-drying links from your domain, or assault your visitors with filthy popups.

Now you can fight back. :D I’m so grateful to the dudes at URL Void. Thanks for doing this!

Code My Concept: Providing the Nuts and Bolts of Beautiful Web Design

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of CodeMyConcept. All opinions are 100% mine.

When it comes to your website, be it for business or pleasure, you really do want it to be all YOU. In the SEO world, we call this “branding.” That’s a rather chilly term for what I like to think of as “your online personality.” Part of your online personality– your “branding”– is web design. I have emphasized for quite a few years the utter importance of a good, functional web design. I’m sure the old “Kubrick” WordPress theme was amazing for its time, but PLEASE. We’ve progressed now!

Web design is NOT easy, this coming from a gal who has tried it and is still learning. I can see the end result in my mind– that beautiful, exquisite opus magnus that creates undulating waves of awesomeness for all my readers… but getting the nuts and bolts together to make it a reality? Not so easy.

I’ve got some good news for you if you are interested in creating a unique design: CodeMyConcept. There’s a very impressive and talented group of people working there! CodeMyConcept crafts your glorious design into code, into a theme for your website. You can install the new theme, or have the CodeMyConcept do it for you.

What I have done is very, very simply described what the team does. Of course, there’s a lot more to it, a lot more this talented team of artists and coders can do. You’ll have to visit the CodeMyConcept website to read more about it. Their website is (obviously) of superior design, and the information is simple and very readable. Go to the website and click the link “Our Work.” It’s exceptional! The prices are not bad at all, definitely within the “branding” budget. And it’s definitely less expensive than hiring an independent designer.

CodeMyConcept guarantees their work, and they specialize in PSD to html service (although, they also do a lot more). I’m really impressed, especially with the prices. I realize I have spent WAY too much on those “premium” themes that everyone else has. :-p Next time I need a design for my websites, I’m checking these guys out.

A Software Creation Tool

Want to create your own software? I know I would! I have often wanted some software application to help me with something or another (such as, network chat– I still cannot find a good network chat program), but have no idea how to go about it. Plus, I like to tinker. :D

Well anyway, here’s a Software development tool I have heard about: REAL Studio software. There’s a demo video at the website and I found it absolutely fascinating. The demo shows how to make a web browser! The software looks incredibly easy to use. I’m very impressed! If you have even a mild curiosity about creating your own software, or seeing how it is accomplished, do check out the website.

Other things that jumped out at me as I perused the software description:

  • You can download a trial version of REAL Studio to see if you like it.
  • REAL Studio is compatible with all versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux.
  • There are a lot of tutorials and information available.
  • The makers of REAL Studio have gone the extra mile by providing excellent tutorials, a detailed Help section, and a forum for support. Wow!
  • REAL Studio has a 90-day money-back guarantee, and that’s even after you check out the trial version for 30 days.
  • REAL Studio is affordable! The Personal Edition is $99. Other, more extensive versions exist for server and larger studio needs.

Here’s an introductory video from the site. It gives you an idea of how simple REAL Studio program can be:

I think this is a great application– for making software AND for teaching basic software creation lessons. I’m downloading the software trial version, and will definitely have my children get familiar with it. Who knows, maybe we’ll get our own network chat software after all!

Remember, I’m a pro-blogger and I am sometimes compensated with stuff or money to mention or review products! This was one of them. You can read more about my blog policy on my “About” page.

Web Design and Content Management Services

I try to be the “Do It Yourself” kind of gal, in everything from electrical wiring to landscaping to blog design. But some things are way over my head. And if you run any kind of small (or large) business, not only is content management and Web Design over our heads, oftentimes we do not have the time or resources to put everything together. And take it from me– a classless, sloppily-built design or e-commerce site makes a very, very bad impression indeed.

Thus, with this in mind, I’ll put a bug in your ear if you have need of some help: Great Minds Design. They are a top-notch company based in Los Angeles and London, comprising of a brilliantly talented, motivated group of designers and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) geeks. They will create your website’s unique, creative, and functional web design; will code your design with the latest web technology; and build the site so that it is search-engine friendly and easily read by all the major search engine bots (Google, Yahoo, Ask.com, Bing).

If the Great Minds Design website is any precursor to what is to be found in the talent of the company, then Great Minds is superior! The web site is very, very classy! Check out the portfolio to get an idea of their style and service offered. Looks great! You can visit their website, or call their offices: in Los Angeles: +1 310 425 9639; London: +44 (0) 7796 955 335.

Your Own Special Avatar

Avatars are becoming a very hot commodity, and in some arenas, a critical one. I use a very old photograph of an ancestor for my avatar, but I’ve been toying with using a different one. I’m not comfortable plastering my own photo all over the Internet… and those Yahoo avatars are just awful, I think. But with many of us building an online presence- be it through blogging, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, or whatever– an avatar that represents who you are is important. Making that visual association is extremely important for pro-bloggers, too.

So imagine my delight and surprise when I visited MrsToon.com, where you can make your own avatar! Besides having a terrific name for a domain, the site is pretty neat! This is totally cool! You upload your photo and Mrs. Toon will hand-draw the photo into a catroon avatar. The price is right, too!! But if you don’t want to shell out the bucks, you can enter Mrs. Toon’s contest here to win a free avatar. You can check out Mrs. Toon on Twitter, and her Facebook page is here.
