Businesses NEED Investment Opportunities

Smiling Group of Professionals

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of the blather from Washington that the government can “create jobs.” How on earth did this myth ever get started? Everyone assumes that the federal government can wave their magic wand, pull out billions of printed money and magically “create” private sector jobs. It is FALSE.

The only “jobs” government can create are MORE GOVERNMENT jobs. And that’s part of what’s wrong with the economy! Government jobs are supported by taxpayer money, money that is not coming in because the government is wrecking the economy by spending more money to create more tax-funded government jobs! It’s just… insane.

What the government should do is scale back their burdensome regulations and taxes. Businesses need Investment Opportunities to support the economy, and they aren’t getting much opportunity because we’re to busy scrambling to pay all the taxes! Starting a new business or expanding an existing one takes guts. You just never know what the future holds. Your product or service may be magnificent, but in a shaky economy, consumers just aren’t going to buy. And in a shaky economy, banks don’t like to lend, either. CNN has some good business information on these topics and the state of our economy and current business climate. Unfortunately, the business climate is none too friendly for small businesses right now. I think that the small business owner will probably need to look elsewhere than tightwad major banks and government. Some money lenders actually consider small business loans as an investment, as well as a token of hope and faith in American enterprise. The more I look around, the more I realize that the days of government largesse is over. I’m not too sad about it, but the void must be filled by Americans who are willing to reach to and support one another.

What do you think? Do you think our economy will bounce back, or is this all a change for the worse?

Real Estate and Florida Home Builder Opportunities

hswh

Was it really only 14 years ago?! When I purchased my home?! It took me several years of exhausting legwork and nagging local real estate agents to get my home. They dragged their feet, I tell you what. Well, sure, I was picky but STILL. I remember driving around all the surrounding towns, looking for homes or plots of land for sale. Back then, we didn’t have the Internet and I had to rely on the sparse listings in the newspaper, the real estate agents who didn’t want to reveal their “insider” information, or me driving around.

Today, it’s really changed. Even though I don’t plan on selling and re-buying anything in the near future, I still like to keep up with the real estate market. I have a few websites I check and quite a number of real estate apps, too. I LOVE looking at listings and looking through homes. I tell ya, I would be a realtor, if I could. I love houses, everything about them (except the property taxes). I just like to know what the housing market is doing, how it’s going, what people are doing with their homes. Homes are a MAJOR investment, so what people do with them tells about their priorities and the neighborhood “mood” (I think so, anyway). I also see that taxation has a lot to do with the market and with renovations. In high-taxed areas (like mine), people just don’t have enough money or are not motivated to keep up the homes. But in places with lower taxation, the houses and neighborhoods are much nicer and pleasant. I wish state and local governments would get that through their thick skulls…. if we’re impoverished trying to pay all these taxes every year, there’s no way we can hire a reputable Florida home builder to build a nice home. Not even a warranty helps in such a situation.

Anyway, I LOVE the Internet!! I’m ready, next time I need to get a property.

Oh, “That” Agency

lrentertaino9u4

Got a big or small business? It goes without saying that you need to advertise. But exactly WHAT kind of advertising. Ah, that’s the squeeze. You need “that” advertising. ;) From “that” Advertising Agency. It’s almost like a “Who’s on First” joke. Yep, “That” advertising agency!

Here’s the scoop: in the “early days” before the Internet– remember those days of printed magazines and television commercials?– a business could rely on advertising through those venues. But today, if your business does not have any web presence, you’re missing out. More and more, consumers are turning to the Internet for information, reviews and purchases. Getting seen on the web is a must, today.

Problem is, what on earth do you to to accomplish this?

Like I said, you need “That” advertising agency. :) It’s a real agency. They manage mixed media marketing with panache. Mixed media marketing is a relatively new concept. Before, you had to get an agency to manage the traditional advertising venues, and another agency to manage online advertising venues. That! Advertising Agency does it all, mingling social networking with Internet marketing SEO with traditional media. The company is a young, hip group of marketers that can really give your business the advertising splash it needs. Plus, That! Advertising Agency allows you to analyze your portfolio to see what’s working best for you.

If you’ve got a business, check it out.

You Can’t Do It All Yourself…

Smiling Group of Professionals

Believe me, I know. I’ve been THIS CLOSE to burn out. I run a small business– as a freelance writer, blogger, and travel article writer. Because I produce content AND have a dozen of my own websites, I’ve had to be a “jack of all trades” kind of girl. Designing websites, managing databases, creating my own graphics and advertisements and logos and… yeah, it’s exhausting just to read about all that I have to do, regularly.

But whether you are CEO of the largest corporation in the world, or small fry like me– you MUST get the word out that you exist. Advertising is the way we do it. I’ve toodled in advertising for many years now, as a radio professional who relied on sales and promotions for my shows, to writing ads for other clients. When you have a business (especially an online business) everyone and their mother chants “Content is king!” and “Content, content, content!” Well, this is only partially true. Your content or product may be as life-changing as the X-ray or world-changing as the iPhone– but unless you GET THE WORD OUT, all your brilliance will be buried.

That’s why many people hire That! Advertising Agency. They are wonderfully creative, blending traditional and innovative advertising methods to ensure that your product or service gets notice. Oh sure, you can probably spend thousands of hours and thousands of dollars doing it all yourself– but in my experience, it’s much easier to hand over stuff like this to the professionals so you can do what you excel at in your business. An Advertising Agency can truly make a business soar. Check out That! Advertising Agency if you’re in need of some help. You can view their portfolio and watch their entertaining video.

Building a Business Social Networking Team

Smiling Group of Professionals

Perhaps your eyes crossed at the term “business social networking.” Business is business and social is social, no?

Well, yes and no. There’s a new movement in the business world (small and large business!): it’s social networking FOR the business. Every good business person realizes that a business is not efficient nor consumer-friendly when it is not truly working together as a team. A splintered business not only costs time and money, but it costs customers, too. The business world is extremely competitive, and consumers still want good, speedy service. A good business will meet that need. MSNBC has a great article about the rise of social networking in business environments.

Unfortunately, many businesses become tangled up in bureaucratic tape and managerial fiats. It’s very interesting to see a movement that embraces social networking within the business FOR the business. For example, let’s say a client requests a discount on goods or services. He asks the customer representative for this benefit. The customer representative does not have authority to offer a discount, and must go through the long chain of command to request it. (Anyone who has been “on hold” on the phone knows how long this process can take– often, the customer rep must file requests with accounting, inventory, and managers before obtaining a yay or nay for the client). Social networking within the business connects all these departments using typical social networking tools (such as Seismic or a desktop app) to obtain data very rapidly.

I find this interesting because, in the past and even now in many businesses, social networking is taboo at the office. It’s used for frittering away time, reducing productivity and increasing costs. But through the use of enterprise activity streams and other means, data and ideas flow freely from one department to another. And when a customer has his needs met in a timely and courteous fashion, that customer is much more likely to become a devoted client, even if it means paying a little more for the exceptional service.

Well, there’s certainly much more to business social networking than I mentioned here. Mine is a very simplified, condensed example of the incredible increase and power of social networking. Tax Credits for the Homebuyer

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Coldwell Banker. All opinions are 100% mine.

Wow! I wish they’d had these tax credits available when I purchased my home. It’s a great time to be a home buyer– with the housing market in a slump, property prices are very low, and people and banks are eager to sell.

Coldwell Banker, that outstanding real estate company, has some information on the 2010 Homebuyer Tax Credits available to first-time and new home buyers. In a nutshell, here are the details:

  • If you are a first-time home buyer, or have not owned in the last three years, are eligible for an tax credit of up to $8,000.
  • If you own a home and have lived in the home as your principle residence for five out of the eight years you have owned your home, you can receive up to $6,500 in tax credit when purchasing a home.
  • There income limits and deadlines, so if you qualify, do not delay.

This video is good and has more information about the tax credits.

This is a great incentive to get the home market moving again. I love the Coldwell Banker website, too– I routine search for properties to keep tabs on property values in the country. You can search the website for home and property listings, too.

Be sure to definitely check this out to see if you qualify!
