Great Software Deal

An incredible coincidence- I’ve been blogging about a series on securing your computer (firewalls, anti-virus, spyware checkers, etc), and tonight, while scanning Buy.com for their weekly sale, I came across an incredible deal on Webroot Spy Sweeper 3 software program. After the rebate, it’s only $11! And the shipping is free. This is a GREAT deal. Webroot Spyware Sweeper is a highly-rated spyware program, and is usually sold retail at about $40.

Every computer needs a spyware checker– over time, as you visit websites and view pages and images, your computer becomes clogged with tracking ads that trace your Internet surfing habits, images files that slow down your computer, and– worse of all– malicious files that can threaten your computer health and perhaps send you personal data to hackers. I usually recommend three to four spyware-killing type programs. Webroot Spyware Sweeper is very highly recommended and the $11 is an incredible deal.

Buy.com is my new favorite store. They have the best prices around and I like that they offer free shipping. The weekly sales page at the website has become a new routine for me, as I check the site for great deals on electronics and all sorts of other stuff (housewares, books, etc). I recommend Buy.com overall– they really go the second mile for the consumer and the prices are phenomenal! Check out their weekly sales page for more deals. I love them!

The Green Hangout

Here’s an interesting online “hangout.” It’s called GreenHangout.com. It looks neat! It’s a place where you can read, write, and interact with and about other frugal-minded, energy-efficient, conservational, and resourceful people and ideas on the web. The site has a lot of “going green tips” – loads of helpful and resourceful ideas for living a more efficient and thrifty (and natural) lifestyle. From the site:

Being Green is not an annoying trend, it’s a way of life. We often take for granted that the little things can make a difference. We started this site to educate, communicate, and provide quality information on how we all can protect the world. This site is a soundboard to announce and inform others on what’s going on in their communities or companies.

I definitely agree! I don’t think the “green” movement is a fad or trend– it’s a lifestyle. We all need to be good stewards of the good resources and blessings we have. Check out the site; it’s free to register and join the group. I’m sure you’ll find something that interests you.

Help For the Uninsured

Well, I no longer have health insurance. Not unless I want to pay $500 a month for coverage. Holy cow! I don’t even spend that much on health care in a YEAR! I eat right, watch my diet, *try* to exercise, and I brush and floss every day. :D I do, however, wear eyeglasses. And the ones I have right now are several years old. I have to get a replacement, and since I’ll be paying out of pocket, guess what I’m going to do?

I’m going straight to ZenniOptical.com. I really like this site. It has everything. At the optician’s place, I could only choose one out of about a dozen styles (and the styles were pretty lame there). At ZenniOptical.com, I have loads and loads of choices! I am in control at last, not my HMO! It’s actually kind of liberating.

By now you might be wondering why on earth I sound so happy– these costs are coming out of pocket! Well, guess what– eyeglasses at ZenniOptical.com are costing me the same amount as my old co-pay for the cheesy-looking HMO glasses! Eyeglasses at ZenniOptical.com are as low as $8. It’s been making a sensation in the media. I’d heard about ZenniOptical.com on Clark Howard (love his show) and now they are mentioned in a book!

Frugal times call for frugal methods. Check out ZenniOptical.com. The selection is great, and there are quality lenses for every type of eye and prescription there. I love them!

Eye-Popping Online Deals

The kids will be getting their eye exams before school starts. Thanks to the Internet, our options are wide open for getting eyeglasses. It costs us almost $900 to fit the family with eyeglasses purchased from the optician.
Holy cow! I don’t know about you, but I just do not have that kind of extra cash laying around. I’ve been surfing my options online, and have discovered a terrific site that sells prescription glasses: EyeBuyDirect.com. I’ve seen some glasses as low as $7.95. The frames are very nice, too. And after having metal for so long, I’d like my son to go back to plastic frames for a while. They are lighter and more stylish.

Nice, eh? :D

I do not see why people would continue to fork out the big bucks when there is EyeBuyDirect.com. There’s everything necessary at the site for buying and fitting great glasses. I love their innovative “virtual try-on”! There are no hidden costs– yu get what you pay for, and they have tons of the name-brand styles: Calvin Klein, Armani, Diesel, Dior, and more. I am 100% SOLD on buying glasses online. And EyeBuyDirect.com has a no-questions-asked return policy. Save your money for gas! Get the glasses online!

Buying Eyeglasses Online

Need new eyeglasses? It’s easy to buy them online! Check out zennioptical.com. We’ve ordered from them and have been pleased with their incredible low costs and great quality. There are a ton of frames to choose from, including the most popular styles available today.

Zenni Optical eliminates the middle man, so you save. You will need to know your prescription when ordering (get the stats from your optometrist’s office). You may need to adjust the glasses to fit your face when they arrive, too. My husband was able to do this easily with a set of jeweler’s screwdrivers (the tiny screwdrivers that you can find at any Dollar Store or department store). We’re impressed with Zenni Optical. We saved about $125 dollars by ordering from them!
