Check Your Medication Interactions

I think I read a study, done a year or two ago, that stated that more than 60% of Americans are on medications, in one form or another. Yikes! That’s awful.

What’s even worse is that many Americans are on multiple medications. These drugs can sometimes interact, causing more health problems than the disease. Here’s a good website that will check drug interactions: MedHelp Drug Interaction Checker. It’s free to check. So if you are on a weird cocktail of meds, please be sure to check for any adverse interactions.

Winners of the iLasik Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

A few months ago, I mentioned a very nice contest called the “You Gotta See This” iLASIK Video Contest. It was by Abbott Medical Optics Inc. (AMO), a Lasik vision correction company. The prizes were spectacular. Entrants had to create videos showing how Lasik laser surgery had changed their lives. The Grand Prize was for $5000!

The winners have been announced. The winner of the $5000 Grand Prize is Alex, and you can see his winning video here– he made a music video. The other video winners *look* good (pun intended!), too! I love some of the creative titles: Contacts Stink, Orbs of Perfection, Foggy Riding, and others. They are very creative videos, too. We cracked up over the “iLASIK Would Make Surfing More Enjoyable” video, lol! And Robbo got First Prize, which was an HDTV package valued at $2500. Sweet. Here is the video, lol.

Sheesh, I wish I had entered! I love video contests! :(

Well congrats to the winners! You can *see* the winners and their videos at the iLASIK Video Contest website, where you can learn more about the benefits of laser surgery, how the surgery is done, safety questions, and more; and you can also register to get eye care products and updates.

Manage Your Fitness Plan Online

I know how very difficult maintaining a fitness plan can be– I work full-time at home, homeschool four kids, babysit children, and try to keep the house clean, all the while trying to grow vegetables, renovate a house, and maintain a dozen blogs. Life is busy, and I really have a lot less time to manage my health regimen now that I am older (and really need one). If you are in the same boat (and I know you are!), here’s a little sneak peek into a fitness social network online: FitClick.com. It’s GREAT! It’s a community of like-minded individuals, meeting online and sharing everything from diet tips to online weight loss goals and successes (and foibles!), meal plans, and more. I like the calorie counter and food diary aspect best of all. My life is such a rush most days, so I don’t always pay attention to what I eat. When I jot things down in the food diary (I’m on the computer working all day, anyway, so it’s easy to access FitClick’s website), it gives me a better idea of what I have eaten, total. I can clearly see the cold, hard facts.

Check out FitClick.com if you’re looking for something to help you improve your health and fitness. I’ve signed up with other programs, but none of them had a social community to it. It’s free to register! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Well, everything except more weight– hopefully, you’ll lose that if you need to. ;)
